CTO supplies the National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies (ANTIC), Cameroon training

The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) is committed to supporting its members in making effective use of information and communication technologies (ICT). As part of its support, the CTO provides customised training to build ICT skills and enhance the expertise of its Members. In keeping with its commitment, the CTO is to deliver two training courses for its ICT Sector Member, the National Agency for Information and Communication Technologies (ANTIC), Cameroon in September 2021.

ANTIC staff will be trained on Critical Information Infrastructure Protection (CIIP) during a 3-day course, from 15th to 17th  September in Yaoundé. Participants will examine the security of information in computers and communication networks within infrastructure sectors critical to national security. The course is designed to equip participants with the skills to identify and classify types of critical infrastructure and develop cybersecurity strategies and protection programmes.

Additionally, from the 20th to 24th  September 2021 ANTIC will receive IT Management training. This 5-day course is designed to provide participants with understanding of IT Systems and to enhance the skills required to manage the deployment and optimal use of IT tools as part of the corporate strategy of an organisation.

The CIIP training will be delivered by Mr Haythem El Mir, CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional). Mr. El Mir is an Information security expert with more than 20 years of experience in improving all aspects of information security. The IT Management training will be delivered by Mr Bernard Ewah. Mr Ewah has extensive experience in leading and delivering cross-functional technology and business strategies, public programmes, and projects.

The CTO wishes the ANTIC team a fruitful learning experience as they look to further implement cybersecurity strategies and protocols following the successful completion of these training programmes.
