The CTO’s Diploma in Telecommunications Management Studies (DTMS) is a 6-week programme developed to help experienced specialist telecommunications professionals gain a thorough and comprehensive understanding of all aspects of telecommunications business management. On completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
  • Explain the basics of both fixed and wireless network technologies
  • Describe the importance of adopting global telecommunications standards
  • Discuss the key aspects of network design, deployment and migration
  • Apply human resources principles within a team or business unit
  • Expand marketing and customer relationship management (CRM) programmes with an operator.

“The DTMS was refreshing, energising and provided me with multiple opportunities for discussions and debates during the 6 weeks. The course structure is perfect for a group of telecoms operators and regulators. It has given me a good knowledge base to continuously improve my existing management and technical expertise. Whether you are in middle management or top management, DTMS is the course for you.” Edward Mmusi, Research Officer, Botswana Telecommunications Authority (2010).

Instead of a DTMS, organisations may choose to have a 4-week Certificate in Telecommunications Management.
